Kim Min Kyu Transforms Into Visual Center Of An Idol Group Preparing For Comeback In

Meet Kim Min Kyu’s idol group from his upcoming tvN drama “The Heavenly Idol”!

Based on a popular webtoon and web novel, “The Heavenly Idol” is a new fantasy drama starring Kim Min Kyu as High Priest Rembrary, who suddenly wakes up one day to find himself in the body of Woo Yeon Woo, the “visual center” of the unsuccessful idol group Wild Animal. Go Bo Gyeol will star in the drama as Kim Dal, Woo Yeon Woo’s No. 1 fan. When her bias suddenly begins insisting in the fifth year of his career that he’s actually High Priest Rembrary, she winds up becoming Wild Animal’s manager in order to save him.

Newly released stills from the drama offer a sneak peek of Wild Animal’s group comeback—and the colorful cast of characters who will become Rembrary’s bandmates.

Squatting in front of the other members is Wild Animal’s kind-hearted and hard-working leader Choi Jung Seo (played by Hong Seung Bum), who thoughtfully takes care of his bandmates and always stays behind to practice overtime. However, his passion and desperation to succeed sometimes lead him to try way too hard, which can have amusing consequences.

Standing on Woo Yeon Woo (Rembrary)’s left is Hwang Tae In (Shin Myung Sung), Wild Animal’s talented main vocal. Hwang Tae In disapproves of Woo Yeon Woo’s desire to become an actor, which leads to constant bickering between the two idols.

The member making a cute heart gesture with his cheeks is Cash (Choi Jae Hyun), the group’s lead vocal and a social media addict who can never get enough attention. Due to his addiction to live broadcasts and posting selfies, Cash inadvertently winds up playing a key role in triggering the “Rembrary incident” that draws attention to the sudden, bewildering change in Woo Yeon Woo.

Finally, the blond of the group is Wild Animal’s youngest member and main dancer Cha Hae Gyeol (Shin Kyu Hyun). Cha Hae Gyeol’s personality is so eccentric and unpredictable, he even gives Rembrary a run for his money.

“The Heavenly Idol” will premiere on February 15 at 10:30 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser for the drama here!
