Jimin Dishes On The "Promise" He Made To Himself, Believing In The Message Behind BTS's Music, And More

BTS’s Jimin has graced the cover of Vogue Korea!

On March 15, Vogue Korea released a pictorial and interview with Jimin in which he talked about his upcoming solo album “FACE.” As one of the newest ambassadors for luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co., Jimin revealed that he was drawn to the new Tiffany T collection for his pictorial with Vogue Korea.

Regarding the album, Jimin shared, “It’s an autobiographical album, but I hope everyone listening to the music becomes comforted and relates [to the music] as if it were their story. Regarding the solo album RM released at the end of last year, RM expressed that the album’s B-sides were songs that made you want to ride a bike. After listening to that album and going to a cafe you enjoy, if you focus on listening to my album, I believe that you will have a perfect day.”

Jimin also touched upon his recent collaboration with BIGBANG’s Taeyang through “VIBE.” He shared, “While featuring in the new song ‘VIBE’ by Taeyang, whom I admired since I was very young, I got to see him up close, and he is way cooler than I imagined. I wanted to be a person like that. Just as I was working on my solo album, it became an opportunity to look back on myself. Did I ask for advice on the new album? I held back because I wanted him to listen to it after it was all completed.”

The artist continued, “The members, staff, fans, and people who make me shine even brighter are by my side, so I often think, ‘I am a really happy person.’ That gives me strength. Incredible energy is released when my sense of responsibility as a BTS member, the happiness when I’m together with the members, and my gratitude for the unchanging love from fans mix together.”

Similarly, Jimin shared that his first self-composed track “Promise” is meant to be a promise to himself to not forget that numerous precious people are cheering him on and sending him love by his side.

He continued, “I really agree with the opinion that BTS’s music always talks about how there needs to be more love and tolerance in the world. I also become greatly comforted by listening to the music made by the members. Isn’t comfort the greatest strength music can bring?” On more of the performance aspect, Jimin revealed, “I feel the burden of wanting to showcase a perfect performance to fans, but I will move forward while working hard in a healthy way.”

Regarding the next chapter for BTS, Jimin shared, “I am sincerely cheering on all the members’ future steps. There are many times when I become consumed by fear having started my solo voyage, and I gain strength while thinking of the members,” adding that he works harder to improve even more while awaiting the day when they will reunite again.

Toward the end of the interview, Jimin talked about his friendship with ARMY (BTS’s fan club). He shared, “Our friendship is already in its 10th year. That is not a short time. Although we can’t understand everything about each other, I believe that we have at least become fully aware of what we are thinking and that we empathize with each other. As time passes, I feel the presence of ARMY, whom I have long trusted and relied on, gradually growing even bigger.”
