Watch: Im Soo Hyang And Kim Jung Hyun Attempt To Make Dalgona Successfully Behind The Scenes Of "Kokdu: Season Of Deity"

MBC’s “Kokdu: Season of Deity” shared a new making-of video!

“Kokdu: Season of Deity” is a fantasy romance drama starring Kim Jung Hyun as Kokdu, a grim reaper who leaves the underworld every 99 years to punish humans in the mortal realm. During his latest trip, he winds up meeting Han Gye Jeol (Im Soo Hyang), a female doctor who has the mysterious ability to order him around.

In the new making-of video, Im Soo Hyang focuses intently as she makes bungeoppang, a fish-shaped Korean pastry. After feeding Kim Jung Hyun the bungeoppang for a romantic scene of the two together, Kim Jung Hyun admits off-camera, “It really is tasty.”

The production team also practices making dalgona (Korean candy made with melted sugar and baking soda) before Im Soo Hyang gives it a go herself. While watching the production team member practice, Kim Jung Hyun expertly comments, “You can’t [heat the sugar] with fire after adding baking soda.” He explains, “I’ve made it a lot.”

Although Kim Jung Hyun observes Im Soo Hyang making dolgona with slight concern and skepticism, the two still laugh even while experiencing minor hiccups along the way. Eventually, Im Soo Hyang succeeds in making dalgona as the two naturally ad-lib during the scene.
