MBC’s “Joseon Attorney” has joined the weekend ratings fray!

“Joseon Attorney” is a new drama starring Woo Do Hwan as Kang Han Soo, an oejibu (an attorney in the Joseon dynasty) who seeks to avenge the death of his parents through a trial. WJSN’s Bona stars as idealistic princess Lee Yeon Joo, who also seeks to avenge her father using the law, while VIXX’s Cha Hak Yeon (N) plays Yoo Ji Seon, the Joseon-era equivalent of their city’s mayor.

On March 31, the new drama premiered to higher viewership ratings than the series finale of its predecessor “Kokdu: Season of Deity” (the drama that previously occupied its time slot). According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Joseon Attorney” scored an average nationwide rating of 2.8 percent, marking a significant increase from the 1.6 percent rating on which “Kokdu: Season of Deity” ended last week.

Meanwhile, SBS’s “Taxi Driver 2” was the most-watched program of any kind to air thus far this week, scoring an average nationwide rating of 14.5 percent for its latest episode.

“Taxi Driver” also successfully remained the most-watched program of Friday among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it earned an average rating of 6.2 percent.

The premiere of “Joseon Attorney” will soon be available with subtitles on Viki below:
