Jang Hyuk, Jang Nara, Lee Soon Jae, And More Share An Emotional Moment In Upcoming Drama "Family"

“Family” has released new photos previewing the heartwarming drama before its big premiere!

“Family” is a new tvN drama focussing on the story of a secret agent for the National Intelligence Service (NIS) who goes undercover as an ordinary office worker. Alongside him is his sweet but fierce wife who dreams of having a perfect family—but is hiding a big secret. Jang Hyuk plays the NIS agent Kwon Do Hoon while Jang Nara will play his wife Kang Yu Ra.

The newly released stills give viewers a sneak peek of the many characters to appear in the drama. In one photo, Lee Soon Jae’s character Kwon Woong Soo looks to be trying to say something, but his eyes are filled with tears as unexplained sorrow comes to light. In another photo, he is seen crying alongside his granddaughter Kwon Min Seo (Shin Soo Ah), who can’t help but mimic her grandfather’s sadness.

Then there’s a photo of Kwon Do Hoon holding his younger brother Kwon Ji Hoon (Kim Kang Min) tightly as he cries, while Kang Yu Ra also wears a sad expression. On the other hand, Lee Mi Rim (Yoon Sang Jung), a new daughter-in-law of the Kwon family, stands by looking shocked and a bit bewildered by the family’s emotional outbursts, which are sure to make viewers laugh.

As it turns out, these photos come from the memorial day for the mother-in-law of the Kwon family, and the tears they share are a sign of their strong bond as a family. The Kwon family spans three generations, yet they show incredible unity from Kwong Woong Soo down to young Kwon Min Seo.

The production team of “Family” said, “The comedic acting of Lee Soon Jae, the godfather of acting at the very center of ‘Family,’ is by far the best. We’re portraying the character of Kwon Woong Soo in a more comical way based on [Lee Soon Jae’s] veteran acting skills.” They added, “At the same time, look forward to Lee Soon Jae’s performance that will show great chemistry with Jang Hyuk, Jang Nara, and his granddaughter Shin Soo Ah regardless of their generational divide.”

“Family” premieres April 17 at 8:50 p.m. KST!
