Lee Dong Wook Goes Head-To-Head With Ha Do Kwon In “Tale Of The Nine-Tailed 1938”

Get ready for an epic face-off between Lee Dong Wook and Ha Do Kwon on the next episode of tvN’s “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938”!

“Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” is a sequel to the hit 2020 drama “Tale of the Nine-Tailed,” which told the story of the male gumiho (mythical nine-tailed fox) Yi Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) in the present day. However, in the new sequel, he unexpectedly finds himself back in 1938, and he embarks on an eventful adventure in his quest to return to the present.

In the previous episode, Yi Yeon unexpectedly found an abandoned baby on the front steps of Myoyeongak. Fully knowing he could not take responsibility for the baby’s future, Yi Yeon decided to drop the baby off at someone else’s doorstep. However, no matter how much he tried, the baby keeps magically showing up at their gate. Later, when he observed the baby, he noticed that the marks on the baby’s forehead were actually the Big Dipper constellation. Not too long after Yi Yeon realized the baby was no ordinary infant, police showed up and ordered Yi Yeon to hand the baby over. It turns out it’s the demand of the God who was currently imprisoned by Ryuhei Kato (Ha Do Kwon), the director of the Government-General’s police department.

The latest stills capture Yi Yeon’s eventual face-off against Ryuhei Kato over the mysterious baby. Even just by brushing past him, Yi Yeon is quick to sense that his opponent has extraordinary power and stopped in his tracks. The same can be said about Ryuhei Kato, who despite having brutal power evident by when he punished his subordinate Akira Saito (Lim Ji Ho) in the previous episodes, also looks somewhat startled when he senses Yi Yeon’s power. Soon, the two engage in an intense war of nerves as they both draw their swords against each other.

The production team teased, “The inevitable fight begins. The two are able to sense that the other is a tough opponent just by brushing past each other. It will be a thrilling moment in which their existences will be imprinted on each other’s minds. Viewers will be able to see another aspect of Yi Yeon as he’s trying to overcome another crisis.”

Episode 5 of “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” will air on May 20 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
