Lee Dong Wook Gears Up For His Final Face-Off Against Ha Do Kwon In “Tale Of The Nine-Tailed 1938” Finale
tvN’s “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” dropped new stills ahead of the finale!
“Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” is a sequel to the hit 2020 drama “Tale of the Nine-Tailed,” which told the story of the male gumiho (mythical nine-tailed fox) Yi Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) in the present day. In the new season, Yi Yeon unexpectedly found himself back in 1938, and he embarked on an eventful adventure in his quest to return to the present.
Previously, Yi Yeon successfully fought against the Shinigami mercenaries with Ryu Hong Joo (Kim So Yeon) and Cheon Moo Young (Ryu Kyung Soo). However, it was later revealed that Cheon Moo Young had awakened the “first mountain god,” who took on the appearance of Cheon Moo Young’s older brother in order to mislead him and to steal the treasure Yi Yeon was in possession of. Once the first mountain god’s goal was achieved, he killed Cheon Moo Young. Not to mention, Jang Yeo Hee (Woo Hyun Jin) and Yoo Jae Yoo (Han Gun Yoo) were kidnapped, causing Yi Rang (Kim Bum) to fall into great despair.
The newly released stills captivate with Yi Yeon’s charismatic gaze. Having learned that Seonwoo Eun Ho (Kim Yong Ji) will be forced into marriage with Kato Ryuhei (Ha Do Kwon), Yi Yeon resolved to ruin the wedding. Yi Yeon’s gaze is especially fierce as he fights against the spirits and those who kidnapped the people precious to him.
Furthermore, the stills depict Yi Yeon finally facing off against Kato Ryuhei. As the two check each other’s strengths, the atmosphere turns stiff with tension, making viewers wonder if Yi Yeon will be able to win the final battle.
Finally, Yi Yeon and Koo Shin Joo (Hwang Hee) appear to be urgently headed somewhere as they leave the ruined banquet behind them. In order to return to modern day, Yi Yeon has to return to the Afterlife Immigration Office in time during the eclipse, raising anticipation for whether Yi Yeon will finish all his missions in time.
The production team shared, “A fierce battle of wits will unfold until the end. Yi Yeon will do all he can for the sake of those who are living in 1938. Yi Yeon’s performance will deliver thrilling catharsis until the end.”
The finale of “Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938” will air on June 11 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
