SM Officially Responds To Protests By Fans Of Girls' Generation's Taeyeon
SM Entertainment has released an official statement responding to complaints by fans of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon.
Recently, some of Taeyeon’s fans have been protesting SM Entertainment’s management of the singer, even sending protest trucks to the company’s building to voice their concerns. Among other issues, fans have complained about the agency’s promotions and choice of venues for Taeyeon’s ongoing “THE ODD OF LOVE” tour, which some have criticized as too small. Other concerns included the lack of self-produced content for Taeyeon and SM Entertainment’s handling of legal action against malicious commenters.
On July 5, the agency finally responded to the protests by posting a statement on Taeyeon’s official social media accounts that are managed by SM Entertainment.
SM Entertainment’s full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is SM Entertainment.
We would like to thank the many fans who always wait for Taeyeon’s new music and activities with great anticipation and excitement.
We have seen the many opinions recently sent to us by fans regarding Taeyeon, and we are making a statement to address them.
We will listen carefully to the many voices of [Taeyeon’s] fans regarding her current concert and her future activities, and we will work even harder to collect these opinions and ensure they are reflected.
We once again express our deep gratitude to the fans for your loving criticism and support, and we promise that we will be even more thorough in our support of Taeyeon’s future music and various activities.
We will continue to do our utmost for the growth and improvement of our artist, and we will repay the fans for all your interest and support.
