Watch: "Queendom Puzzle" Kicks Off All-Rounder Battle With Covers Of ITZY, Taeyeon, DAY6, And More

Mnet’s new idol survival show “Queendom Puzzle” has begun its “All-Rounder Battle”!

A spin-off of the hit survival show “Queendom,” “Queendom Puzzle” features idols—including members of currently active girl groups—battling for spots in a new seven-member project girl group. Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon, who previously hosted the second season of “Queendom,” serves as the show’s MC.

On last week’s episode of “Queendom Puzzle,” the contestants split up into two teams for the next battle: the Queendom team and the Puzzle team. In the All-Rounder Battle, the teams will face off in five separate rounds, with each team putting on a total of five performances: three vocal/rap performances and two dance performances.

After the teams go up against each other in five different rounds, each team’s scores from all five performances will be combined, and the team with the higher score will win the battle. (As a result, the numbers of wins and losses for each team doesn’t matter, only their final scores—a team could win three rounds and still lose the overall battle if their total score is lower than the other team’s.)

In the first round, six members of the Puzzle Team—woo!ah!’s Nana, Rocket Punch’s Suyun, WJSN’s Yeoreum, CLC’s Yeeun, PURPLE KISS’s Yuki, and Weeekly’s Zoa—performed Crush‘s “Rush Hour” (featuring BTS‘s J-Hope).

Meanwhile, four members of the Queendom Team—tripleS’s Seoyeon, Weeekly’s Lee Soojin, Rocket Punch’s Yeonhee, and MOMOLAND’s JooE—covered Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon’s “Weekend.”

Round 2

In the second round, two members of the Puzzle Team—Cherry Bullet’s Bora and Lovelyz’s Kei—covered Lim Young Woong’s “If We Ever Meet Again.”

Meanwhile, four members of the Queendom Team—Dohwa (AOA’s Chanmi), Rocket Punch’s Takahashi Juri, tripleS’s Jiwoo, and Fye—performed BIG Naughty’s “Hopeless Romantic” (featuring AKMU’s Lee Suhyun).

Round 3

In the third round, five members of the Puzzle Team—H1-KEY’s Riina, LIGHTSUM’s Sangah, woo!ah!’s Wooyeon, Cherry Bullet’s Jiwon, and Weeekly’s Jihan—covered ITZY‘s “WANNABE.”

Meanwhile, five members of the Queendom Team—Shiroma Miru, Weeekly’s Soeun, Weki Meki’s Elly, Cherry Bullet’s Chaerin, and H1-KEY’s Hwiseo—performed DAY6’s “Time of Our Life.”

Although the teams’ numerical scores have not yet been revealed, the Puzzle Team won all three rounds, putting the Queendom Team in a precarious position as they head into the final two rounds.

With the two dance rounds to be aired on next week’s episode, it remains to be seen whether the Queendom Team will be able to catch up and turn the tide.
