Baek Yerin Cancels New York Concert After Testing Positive For COVID-19

Baek Yerin’s upcoming concert at New York’s Lincoln Center has unfortunately been cancelled.

As part of a collaboration with Lincoln Center, the Korean Cultural Center New York was originally scheduled to host two K-Indie Music Nights at Damrosch Park this week—the second of which was a free concert by Baek Yerin on July 20.

However, on July 17 local time, the Korean Cultural Center New York announced that Baek Yerin’s concert had been cancelled “due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 among the performers.”

That same day, Baek Yerin took to Instagram to personally apologize to her fans and share the news that she had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The singer wrote in Korean:

To the fans who planned to come see me,

I’m truly sorry! It was already evening when my COVID test results came back positive. I wanted to show you good things, but because I’m unable to sing right now, I’m no longer able to go. You must have been waiting [for the concert], so I’m really sorry.

Everyone, please take care of your health as well, and I’ll come to see you quickly.

Thank you so much for your lovely words of concert and your encouragement.

Wishing Baek Yerin a speedy recovery!
