ZEROBASEONE Cancels

ZEROBASEONE has cancelled and postponed some of their upcoming activities due to Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae being diagnosed with COVID-19.

On August 2, WAKEONE Entertainment officially announced that both ZEROBASEONE members had tested positive for the virus after experiencing mild flu-like symptoms, including sore throats.

While the other ZEROBASEONE members fortunately tested negative for COVID-19, the group has now cancelled the shoot for their “M Countdown History M” performance that was scheduled to air during the August 3 episode of Mnet’s “M Countdown.” ZEROBASEONE has also postponed all fan signing events and video call events from August 3 to 5.

The agency’s full statement is as follows:

Hello.
This is WAKEONE.

We are making an announcement regarding ZEROBASEONE members Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae’s COVID-19 diagnosis and future schedule.

On August 2, Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae experienced mild flu-like symptoms, so they underwent rapid antigen tests as a precautionary measure, and their test results came back positive for COVID-19.

Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae are not suffering from any particular symptoms aside from mild sore throats, and in accordance with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s guidelines to prevent the spread of disease, they will be moving to a location separate from the other members and self-isolating for five days starting from their test date.

Aside from Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae, the other ZEROBASEONE members are not currently experiencing any unusual symptoms. However, they underwent rapid antigen tests as a precautionary measure, and all of their test results came back negative.

We are informing you that there will be some unavoidable changes to [ZEROBASEONE’s] schedule due to the [two members’] COVID-19 diagnosis. As we made these changes because we consider our artists’ health and safety our top priority, we ask for the fans’ understanding.

The Mnet “M Countdown History M” pre-recording that was scheduled to take place on August 3 (Thursday) has been cancelled, though Sung Han Bin, Kim Ji Woong, and Zhang Hao will still be appearing as special MCs on Mnet’s “M Countdown” as scheduled.

The seven members aside from Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae will still be performing at the “2023 World Scout Jamboree K-Pop Super Live” scheduled to take place on August 6 (Sunday).

Additionally, the fan signing events and video call events that were scheduled to take place from August 3 (Thursday) to 5 (Saturday) have been postponed and will be held at a later date. For those who have been selected [for the events], we will be making a separate announcement regarding the schedule and details at a later time through the retailers.

We will do our utmost to support Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae so that they can quickly recover their health.

Thank you.

Wishing both Seok Matthew and Kim Tae Rae the speediest of recoveries!
