SF9's Rowoon Is A Lawyer Hiding A Big Secret In Upcoming Drama "Destined With You"

JTBC’s upcoming drama “Destined With You” has unveiled the first glimpse of SF9’s Rowoon in character!

“Destined With You” is a fantasy romance that tells the love story of civil servant Lee Hong Jo (Jo Bo Ah) who obtains a forbidden book sealed 300 years ago and ace lawyer Jang Shin Yu (SF9’s Rowoon) who becomes a victim of the forbidden book. The drama is penned by “100 Days My Prince” writer No Ji Sul and helmed by director Nam Ki Hoon of “Oh My Baby” and “Voice 3.”

The newly released set of stills featuring Rowoon highlights his seamless transformation into Jang Shin Yu, the talented yet cursed lawyer. Jang Shin Yu always steals the show with his distinctive aura, which comes from a unique combination of his stellar visuals and charisma. The way he looks on at people while in the courtroom is so impactful that it is enough to convince one of his legal prowess. In another photo, he is at the city hall, once again observing someone with interest.

Jang Shin Yu is sought-after by everyone, being at the center of attention wherever he goes. But even this seemingly-perfect man has one detrimental weakness: a family curse that has been passed down through generations. Viewers will have to wait and see what exactly this curse entails and how it is all connected to the owner of the forbidden book, Lee Hong Jo (Jo Bo Ah).

Rowoon commented on his role by saying, “All of the characters have a need and they grow through dealing with those needs. Jang Shin Yu is the type of person that keeps his distance from everyone because he knows that anyone close to him will eventually get hurt. I tried very hard to relay his reasoning and make it convincing.”

On why he chose to take on the role, Rowoon explained, “I liked how the psyche of the character was one I had never taken on before. I found his need to be the selling point. The script was one that made me want to deliver the fullness of it myself. I think viewers will appreciate how Jang Shin Yu and Lee Hong Jo begin with different perspectives but mature together as they fill one another’s needs.”
