Golden Child’s Jaehyun Joins Ryeoun And Choi Hyun Wook In New Time Slip Drama “Twinkling Watermelon”
On August 22, Woollim Entertainment officially announced that Jaehyun would be appearing in “Twinkling Watermelon” in the role of Eun Ho.
“Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun), a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music crash lands at an unfamiliar place after time traveling through a suspicious music shop. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with his father Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook), who was a high school student at the time, and other mysterious youths.
Jaehyun will be playing Eun Ho, Eun Gyeol’s older brother who has a hearing impairment. An enthusiastic taekwondo athlete aspiring to win a Deaflympics medal, Eun Ho is a lively and vibrant person who always seeks fun activities even beyond sports and is full of charm and humor.
Notably, Jaehyun will be showcasing his acting skills in this challenging role that requires conveying the character’s emotions and thoughts solely through facial expressions and sign language rather than dialogue.
Debuting in Golden Child in 2017, Jaehyun took his first step into acting through the 2021 web drama “Convenience Store Fling” and has recently continued his acting endeavors by embarking on the drama “I Am a Gangster Who Became a High School Student” (literal title), which is expected to kick off production in the second half of 2023.
“Twinkling Watermelon” is set to premiere on September 25 at 8:50 p.m. KST. Catch the drama’s first teaser here!
