BTS’s J-Hope, TWICE’s Jihyo, NCT DREAM, NewJeans, Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, STAYC, And More Sweep Top Spots On Billboard’s World Albums Chart
Billboard has published its World Albums chart for the week ending on September 2!
BTS’s J-Hope’s 2022 solo album “Jack In The Box” re-entered the chart at No. 1 this week following the release of its “HOPE Edition,” a brand-new physical version of the album (which was previously only available digitally or as a Weverse album). “Jack In The Box” also re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 6, making it J-Hope’s first top 10 album as a solo artist.
TWICE’s Jihyo’s solo debut mini album “ZONE” entered the World Albums chart at No. 2 this week, in addition to becoming only the second album by a female K-pop soloist ever to enter the top 15 of the Billboard 200.
After four weeks at No. 1, NewJeans’s latest mini album “Get Up” fell to No. 3 in its fifth consecutive week on the World Albums chart. “Get Up” also set a new record on the Billboard 200, where it became the first K-pop girl group album in history to spend five consecutive weeks in the top 30.
NCT DREAM’s latest album “ISTJ” debuted at No. 4 on this week’s World Albums chart, over a month after its initial release in Korea and on digital platforms. (Although “ISTJ” was originally released in Korea and on digital platforms on July 17, the physical version of the album was only released in the United States on August 18, pushing back its debut on the U.S. charts.) The album also earned NCT DREAM their highest ranking yet on the Billboard 200 this week, in addition to catapulting them to a new peak on the Artist 100.
Stray Kids’ latest album “★★★★★ (5-STAR)” stayed strong at No. 5 in its 12th consecutive week on the World Albums chart, and it also became the group’s first album ever to chart for 12 weeks on the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, BTS’s 2022 anthology album “Proof” climbed back up to No. 9 in its 63rd week on the World Albums chart.
Finally, STAYC’s new mini album “TEENFRESH” debuted at No. 14 on this week’s chart.
Congratulations to all of the artists!
