BTS’s V’s official solo debut is off to a promising start!

On September 10, BIGHIT MUSIC officially announced that V’s solo debut album “Layover” had debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s daily album chart after selling 221,491 copies in Japan alone on the first day of its release.

However, that wasn’t the only Oricon chart V topped that day: his title track “Slow Dancing” also debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s daily digital singles chart, while his new B-sides “Blue,” “For Us,” and “Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)” entered the chart at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 respectively.

Additionally, V achieved his biggest debut yet on Spotify with “Slow Dancing,” which debuted at No. 11 on the platform’s daily Global Top Songs chart after racking up an impressive 4,743,367 filtered streams on its first day.

All of the tracks from “Layover” made the top 60 of Spotify’s global chart, with “Love Me Again” at No. 20, “Rainy Days” at No. 24, “Blue” at No. 45, “For Us” at No. 47,” and “Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)” at No. 54.

Meanwhile, “Layover” previously topped iTunes charts in numerous countries all over the world and set a new record for the highest first-day sales of any solo album in Hanteo history.

Congratulations to V!
