NewJeans Enters Top 40 Of Billboard’s Pop Radio Airplay Chart For 1st Time With “Super Shy”
NewJeans achieved multiple feats on the Billboard charts this week!
On September 12 local time, Billboard revealed that NewJeans’ latest mini album “Get Up” had held steady in the top 30 of its Top 200 Albums chart for the seventh week in a row. For the week ending on September 16, “Get Up” stayed strong at No. 28.
NewJeans has now become the first female K-pop act in history—and only the second K-pop artist overall, following BTS—to chart an album for seven consecutive weeks in the top 30 of the Billboard 200.
“Get Up” also spent its sixth non-consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, making it only the second K-pop girl group album ever to top the chart for six weeks (following BLACKPINK’s “THE ALBUM”).
Additionally, NewJeans’ hit single “Super Shy” debuted at No. 38 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart this week, marking the group’s very first time entering the chart. (The Pop Airplay chart measures weekly plays on mainstream Top 40 radio stations across the United States.)
NewJeans also continued to rank high on numerous other Billboard charts this week: “Get Up” remained No. 3 on the Top Current Album Sales chart and No. 4 on the Top Album Sales chart, in addition to climbing back up to No. 5 on the Tastemaker Albums chart.
Meanwhile, NewJeans ranked No. 24 on this week’s Artist 100, marking their 11th overall week on the chart.
On Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Super Shy” came in at No. 9 this week, followed by “ETA” at No. 22, “OMG” at No. 96, “Ditto” at No. 102, “New Jeans” at No. 119, and “Hype Boy” at No. 140. On the Global 200, “Super Shy” climbed back up to No. 13, trailed by “ETA” at No. 44, “OMG” at No. 159, “New Jeans” at No. 171, and “Ditto” at No. 182.
