BTS's Jungkook Becomes 1st Soloist In Hanteo History To Surpass 2 Million 1st-Day Sales With

Just one day into its release, BTS’s Jungkook has already made Hanteo history with his first solo album!

On November 3 at 1 p.m. KST, Jungkook released his long-awaited first solo album “GOLDEN” and its title track “Standing Next to You.”

According to Hanteo Chart, by the end of the day, “GOLDEN” had already sold a record-breaking total of 2,147,389 copies, making it the first album by a solo artist ever to sell 2 million copies within the first day of its release.

Not only has “GOLDEN” set a new record for the highest first-day sales of any solo album in Hanteo history, but it has already managed to break the record for the highest first-week sales of any solo album in just one day.

Both previous records belonged to Jungkook’s bandmate V, whose own debut album “Layover” sold 1,672,138 copies on its first day and 2,101,974 copies in its first week.

Even including groups, Jungkook is only the fourth artist in Hanteo history to sell over 2 million copies of an album on the first day of its release (following his own group BTS, SEVENTEEN, and Stray Kids).

Congratulations to Jungkook on his amazing new record!
