Rowoon And Cho Yi Hyun's Dynamic Takes A Surprising Turn In “The Matchmakers”

“The Matchmakers” is a new KBS 2TV drama starring Rowoon and Cho Yi Hyun as a young widower and widow who join forces to become an unlikely matchmaking duo.

Previously in “The Matchmakers,” Shim Jung Woo (Rowoon) and Jung Soon Deok (Cho Yi Hyun) visited the house of the three single daughters of Dr. Maeng to convince their mother to marry off her daughters. Initially, the mother agreed to the matchmaking proposal after Jung Soon Deok’s persuasion. However, the situation took a sudden turn when she refused to offer her eldest daughter Maeng Ha Na (Jung Shin Hye) as a mistress to the Defense Minister. This refusal resulted in her arrest. Misinterpreting the situation as Shim Jung Woo’s fault, Jung Soon Deok declared that she wanted to terminate their matchmaking contract.

However, the newly released stills reveal a significantly different atmosphere compared to when Jung Soon Deok decided to end their contract. In the stills, Shim Jung Woo and Jung Soon Deok engage in a mysterious conversation upon reuniting in the secret warehouse, which serves as their main base camp for their matchmaking project. While Shim Jung Woo is surprised after discovering something while looking around the warehouse, Jung Soon Deok, who had remained cold and unfriendly in the past episode now wears a sunny smile.

Other stills capture Jung Soon Deok enthusiastically explaining a mission to Shim Jung Woo, displaying her charisma as the goddess of matchmaking. In contrast, Shim Jung Woo appears pensive as he listens to Jung Soon Deok’s plan. Viewers are eager to find out whether the seemingly terminated matchmaking contract has been revived and what transpired between the two to prompt these significant changes.

The production team commented, “Please stay tuned for the unexpected plot twist in the story of Shim Jung Woo and Jung Soon Deok, which will be completely different than the ending of Episode 3.”

The next episode of “The Matchmakers” will air on November 7 at 9:45 p.m. KST.
