Critically-Acclaimed Film “Small Fry” To Be Featured At 27th Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival

The Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival is back for its 27th edition!

The annual event celebrates contemporary Asian cinema from all over the world, and this year’s festival runs from November 8 through 19 in Toronto, Canada.

A diverse variety of genres will be showcased at the festival, providing a great selection of productions to excite all film-lovers.

Included in the film lineup is director Joongha Park’s “Small Fry,” co-written by Howon Kim who also stars in the film.

In “Small Fry,” Ho Jun (Howon Kim) is a flailing actor who has found relative success as a social media influencer, hawking fishing hacks. He prepares his live stream at his preferred fishing spot, only to be disrupted by an obnoxious stranger. The stranger turns out to be the independent film director Director Nam (Seong Hwan), who is trying to convince rising actress Hee Jin (Chaeyoung Leem) to star in his film. As the day progresses, links between Ho Jun, Director Nam, and Hee Jin entwine and unravel to reveal each character’s ambition, pettiness, and pathos as they try to reel in their respective dreams.

“Small Fry” will play at the festival on November 10 at 5:30 p.m. EST at TIFF Bell Lightbox with Joongha Park and Howon Kim in attendance.
