"12.12: The Day" Surpasses 4 Million Moviegoers In Less Than 12 Days
“12.12: The Day” shows no signs of slowing down at the box office!
On December 3, just two days after it surpassed 3 million moviegoers, “12.12: The Day” officially hit the 4 million mark at the Korean box office. According to the Korean Film Council, as of 12:14 a.m. KST, the hit movie had reached a total of 4,253,188 moviegoers.
“12.12: The Day” was originally released on November 22, meaning that it took less than 12 days to surpass 4 million moviegoers.
Notably, “12.12: The Day” is already the third most-watched Korean film released in 2023, following “The Roundup: No Way Out” (which ultimately racked up a total of 10,682,813 moviegoers) and “Smugglers” (5,143,103 moviegoers).
Starring Hwang Jung Min, Jung Woo Sung, Lee Sung Min, and more, “12.12: The Day” is a historical film about the real-life military coup that shook South Korea following the assassination of President Park Chung Hee in 1979.
