(G)I-DLE Cancels Group Appearance At Music Bank Global Festival After Shuhua Falls Ill

(G)I-DLE has cancelled their group appearance at KBS’s 2023 Music Bank Global Festival due to health concerns.

On December 15, Cube Entertainment initially announced that Minnie would be sitting out today’s Music Bank Global Festival after halting all activities due to the recommendation of her doctor. Earlier this week, Minnie left the stage early during (G)I-DLE’s appearance at the Jingle Ball concert in Philadelphia due to a “sudden worsening of her health.”

However, later that morning, the agency went on to announce that Shuhua had been diagnosed with Type A influenza after developing a mild fever and cold symptoms.

As a result, (G)I-DLE has now cancelled their entire group pre-recording for the year-end show “for the safety of the artists and fans.”

Cube Entertainment’s statement is as follows:

We are making an announcement regarding the pre-recording for KBS2’s 2023 Music Bank Global Festival on December 15, 2023 (today).

Early this morning, member Shuhua went to the emergency room due to a mild fever and cold symptoms, and she was diagnosed with type A influenza. At present, in accordance with the doctor’s recommendation, Shuhua has halted all scheduled activities and is currently getting plenty of rest.

Because the disease is a dangerous and contagious disease, for the safety of the artists and fans, we unavoidably decided to cancel the KBS2 “2023 Music Bank Global Festival” group performance pre-recording that was scheduled for today.

We ask for your understanding regarding the fact that this announcement was made late due to our figuring out the precise situation.

Due to the continuing worsening of her health, Minnie recently went to the hospital, and in accordance with the doctor’s recommendation, she has currently halted all scheduled activities and is resting.

Therefore, she will not be participating in the unit and group performances at KBS2’s 2023 Music Bank Global Festival that were scheduled for December 15 (today), and her return to activities will depend on the artist’s condition and recovery.

We are informing you that Miyeon and Yuqi will be appearing in the unit performance at KBS2’s 2023 Music Bank Global Festival.

As this decision was made in consideration of the artist’s health, we ask for fans’ generous understanding.

Once again, we apologize to the fans for giving you cause for concern through this sudden news, and we will do our utmost to help our artist focus on recovering her health.
