BTS's Jimin Becomes 1st Soloist From Any Country To Have 7 Songs With 100 No. 1s Each On iTunes Charts

BTS’s Jimin has made history on the international iTunes charts!

As of December 24 at 8 a.m. KST, Jimin’s new single “Closer Than This” had reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 106 different regions around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Canada, Germany, Brazil, and Australia.

The feat is all the more impressive considering that Jimin faced some stiff competition from two seemingly unbeatable Christmas hits: in the United States, “Closer Than This” managed to overtake Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas in You,” while in the United Kingdom, it successfully beat Wham!’s “Last Christmas.”

With this achievement, Jimin has now become the first solo artist from any country—not just Korea—to have seven different songs top iTunes charts in at least 100 regions each.

Before “Closer Than This,” Jimin previously racked up 100 No. 1s with his solo song “Filter” (which topped iTunes charts in 118 different regions), “With You” (119), “VIBE” (102), “Set Me Free Pt.2” (113), “Like Crazy” (119), and “Angel Pt. 1” (100).

Congratulations to Jimin on his new record!
