4 Heartwarming Moments In Episodes 5-6 Of

As “Queen of Divorce” only has 12 episodes, last week marked its midway point. While episodes 5 and 6 addressed darker themes, the week also presented sweet, lighthearted scenes and moments that evolved from emotional to heartwarming. Here are four scenes from “Queen of Divorce” that left viewers feeling warm and fuzzy.

Warning: spoilers for episodes 5-6  below.

Sara Kim and Kwon Dae Gi unknowingly save each other’s lives

In episodes 3 and 4, we were misled into thinking that Kwon Dae Gi (Lee Tae Gu) was romantically interested in Sara Kim (Lee Ji Ah). I was hoping that he would not end up being the second love interest as that decision would have been very out of character. Thankfully, we finally got to know why Dae Gi wanted to help his boss so much.

At the very beginning of episode 5, Dae Gi asks Sara Kim for a hug and later reveals that she saved his life around two years ago unknowingly. Dae Gi suffered from cancer—leukemia to be specific. While his brother abandoned him and left him to die on the hospital bed, Sara Kim showed up as an angel in his life. In jail, Sara Kim’s doctor informed her that she had matched DNA with a leukemia patient named Kwon Dae Gi and cell donation from her could be life-saving for the dying patient. Initially hesitant, Sara Kim later agreed and ended up saving Dae Gi.

On the other hand, Sara Kim reveals that while she was in jail and going through a tough time, she read Dae Gi’s letter, which he wrote to persuade potential stem cell donors. His words were the sunshine that she needed in her dark days.

Sara Kim finally sees her son after two years

Ms. Lee, the nanny of Sara Kim’s son No Seo Yun (Jung Min Joon), did not let her meet him in the previous episodes. However, Sara Kim kept begging Ms. Lee to at least let her talk to her son on the phone.

A few days after the incident, the nanny calls Sara Kim and tells her she cannot let her meet Seo Yun. However, she does send her photos of her son, and Sara Kim almost cries tears of happiness after seeing them because it has been two years since she last saw her son.

Han Ji In gives Sara Kim evidence on Yul Sung

There is nothing better than seeing two women working together to take down their mutual criminal. In this case, the two women are Sara Kim and Han Ji In (Lee Seo An), and their perpetrator is none other than No Yul Sung (Oh Min Seok). Ji In couldn’t be happier when Sara Kim not only helps her get a divorce but, more importantly, gets her an alimony deal. According to Sara Kim, when she got her divorce without any alimony, people questioned her and assumed that she was the reason why the marriage ended. That’s why she did not want the same to happen to Ji In.

Sara Kim’s good karma returns in the shape of some documents on Yul Sung that Ji In gives her. We do not know the content of these documents yet; however, they are surely going to play a huge role in Sara Kim getting her son back.

Dong Ki Joon and Sara Kim’s relationship development

The last moment is technically not one moment but a collection of all of the sweet interactions between our main leads. No matter how cool Ki Joon and Sara Kim try to act, their expressions clearly convey the love they have for each other in their hearts. Even if they broke up years ago, they still think about the love they once shared, and now that they are working together, their relationship is finally taking a romantic turn.

We first see that at the start of episode 5 when Ki Joon calls Sara Kim and asks her if he can come to drop off her shirt that she left in his car. She agrees, and he looks evidently happy, thinking he will meet Sara Kim again. However, things take an unexpected turn when Ki Joon sees her hugging Dae Gi. Without knowing the full context behind that hug, he leaves. His clear jealousy serves as evidence that he still loves Sara Kim.

The show could have possibly dragged out the misunderstanding plot for a few episodes where Ki Joon would think Sara Kim and Dae Gi are dating. Fortunately, after a few scenes, Ki Joon realizes that he was just misunderstanding Sara Kim and Dae Gi’s platonic relationship for something completely different. The Solution team later goes on an after-work drinking session, and Ki Joon and Sara Kim share a sweet walk where they reminisce about the people they used to be.

The day after Ki Joon saves her from the fire, he asks Sara Kim to be more careful and shows his concern, asking what if Yul Sung tries to harm Sara Kim again, to which she replies, “You can save me again.” This scene is romantic and shows how Sara Kim trusts Ki Joon with her life.

Sara Kim’s feelings are also made clear as day when she is shown getting jealous of a new client, Choi La Hee (Han Bo Reum), who surprisingly dated Ki Joon in the past. She even says to Ki Joon that he can marry La Hee after she separates from her current partner. If that’s not jealousy, then what is? But Ki Joon knows how to make his feelings clear when he tells Sara Kim that he remembers no other ex of his other than her.

Near the end of episode 5, Sara Kim finds out that the main reason Ki Joon agrees to work at Solution is to get information on her. This newfound information has definitely set their relationship development two steps back; however, in the very last scene, the main leads share a passionate kiss. Just to be clear, Sara Kim initiated the kiss because she saw Yul Sung spying on them, but the scene was sweet nonetheless.
