Watch: Go Kyung Pyo And Kang Han Na Become Entangled After A Fateful Accident In Hilarious Teasers For

JTBC has shared new sneak peeks of its upcoming drama “Frankly Speaking” (previously known as “No Secrets”)!

“Frankly Speaking” is a new romantic comedy starring Go Kyung Pyo as Song Ki Baek, a rising news anchor who lives strictly by the rules and has worked hard to build up a clean image. However, Song Ki Baek’s life takes a (literally) shocking turn when he is electrocuted in an accident, leading him to develop a strange condition that prevents him from lying.

The first of two newly released teasers begins with Song Ki Baek introducing himself to viewers on his news program. Someone then describes him in voice-over by saying admiringly, “He’s from a good family, he’s good at his job, and he has good character. He’s got everything. No wonder he’s always so relaxed.”

However, that relaxation abruptly comes to an end when Song Ki Baek suffers an accident that makes him physically unable to lie or say anything he doesn’t truly mean. As Song Ki Baek tries to get his life back together after the accident, someone off-screen tells him, “You’ve changed, you know that? You’ve become weird!”

Before his accident, Song Ki Baek was a slick “yes man” who never said “no” to his boss in any situation—but after it, he can’t even bring himself to say “I respect you” when he doesn’t mean it. After struggling to get through the words, Song Ki Baek ultimately winds up blurting out, “I don’t respect you!” He then adds, “I’m getting irritated,” leading his boss to yell at him, “Get out!”

The teaser ends with Song Ki Baek exclaiming, “So I can’t say anything I don’t mean… does this make any sense?! Will I be able to read the news in this state?”

The second teaser introduces viewers to On Woo Ju (played by Kang Han Na), a passionate variety show writer who is willing to do anything to make a program entertaining. After getting the devastating news that her program might be cancelled, On Woo Ju sets out to find a replacement for a no-show cast member.

On Woo Ju then sees the potential for variety show gold in Song Ki Baek, and she declares that she wants to cast him. Song Ki Baek initially seems to turn her down, saying, “Rather than appearing on variety shows, I want to be an [anchor] that reports the truth with depth.”

However, things change after Song Ki Baek’s accident, with a confused On Woo Ju asking, “Are there instances where someone’s personality suddenly changes after being electrocuted?”

Meanwhile, Song Ki Baek’s life devolves into chaos as he starts telling the truth without holding back: in one scene, he tells someone, “Do you not know how bad your feet smell?” In another, he proclaims, “I’m going to get revenge. No matter what.” Surprised by the sudden change in his attitude, On Woo Ju asks Song Ki Baek, “Why are you doing this? Are you crazy?”

At the very end of the teaser, Song Ki Baek begs On Woo Ju to go away as she warns him, “It’s dangerous [up there]!”

“Frankly Speaking” will premiere on May 1 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
