“The Land Of Happiness” Featuring Jo Jung Suk And Late Actor Lee Sun Gyun Confirms Release Plans

“The Land of Happiness” has unveiled the poster and confirmed its release date.

On May 10, the film distributor NEW announced that “The Land of Happiness” is scheduled to be released in August 2024.

The upcoming film depicts the story of lawyer Jung In Hoo (Jo Jung Suk), who struggles to save Park Tae Joo (Lee Sun Gyun) from a life-or-death situation in the trial of the 1979 presidential assassination case. The movie is based on the real life incident in which former President Park Chung Hee was assassinated on October 26, 1979.

Lee Sun Gyun portrays the upright military officer Park Tae Joo, who is embroiled in a case that shook Korean modern history. Jo Jung Suk plays the lawyer Jung In Hoo, who believes that there is only victory or defeat, not justice, in the courtroom.

Having completed filming in 2022, the movie’s release has been uncertain until now due to the allegations of drug intake and the sudden death of the late actor Lee Sun Gyun. Another film starring Lee Sun Gyun, “Project Silence,” is reportedly under consideration for release this year.
