5 Ways Everything Fell Into Place & 2 Things Left Unresolved In The Finale Of

The finale episode of “Good Partner” jumps a year ahead, and things are looking up for everyone on the Daejeong and Spring Back Law Firm teams. Couple rings have been spotted, and old wounds are being healed. Not to mention a major divorce case that could have gone down a long, painful road takes a positive turn. Granted, the finale also left watchers hanging in a few places.

Here are five times things were perfectly resolved in the finale, and two things we still need answered.

Warning: spoilers ahead!

1. Another divorce couple stays together

The finale gives another win to the optimistic romantics of the world.

This time around, there’s a divorce case between now-CEO Jung Woo Jin’s (Kim Jun Han’s) parents Oh Dae Gyu (Jung Jae Sung) and Park Ae Yeon (Son Ji Na). To add more drama to the case, the attorneys appointed against each other are none other than Cha Eun Kyung (Jang Nara) and Han Yu Ri (Nam Ji Hyun). But despite all the fighting between the couple, they actually don’t move forward to trial.

Eun Kyung and Yu Ri quickly realize what the couple actually needs is time for a heart-to-heart discussion. Eun Kyung and Yu Ri team up despite being opponents and decide to be “translators” instead of attorneys. They help the two get their true feelings across to resolve their issue without separating. Instead of a divorce, they really just wanted to be recognized by each other and get an apology.

Once again, the show proves that honesty can make all the difference. This is definitely a lesson you’ll want to keep in the books.

2. Eun Kyung’s firm proves to be successful

It comes as a relief but not a surprise that Eun Kyung’s new firm, Spring Back Law Firm, has already become successful with many clients and even a new member to her team. Congratulations to Eun Kyung for having her hard work and years of experience paying off!

3. Jae Hee reconnects with her father

As predicted, Eun Kyung’s ex-husband Kim Ji Sang (Ji Seung Hyun) returned in the finale. Thankfully, it was with good intentions.

With the advice of Yu Ri, who experienced a similar family divorce situation in her youth, Eun Kyung’s daughter Kim Jae Hee (Yuna) finds the courage to meet her dad again after not seeing him since the divorce was settled over a year ago.

Eun Kyung is also honest with Jae Hee about her feelings. She explains to her daughter that while she may never forgive her father for what he’s done, whether she does is her choice. The finale episode really hit us with the wisdom!

Though it may take her more time to forgive him, if ever, it’s obvious that Jae Hee misses her father. Here’s hoping they are able to mend their relationship piece by piece.

4. Yu Ri and Eun Ho promise a future together

Yu Ri and Attorney Jeon Eun Ho (P.O) have been going strong as a couple over the entire time gap, and they commemorate their relationship with couple rings in the finale, which they eagerly show off to their respective mentors, Eun Kyung and Woo Jin.

The “proposal” is so adorable and simple, though the two don’t give it a specific name, like “marriage.” It looks like they’re using the rings to promise a future together of enjoying each other’s company, without any rush for labels. Though the show’s premise is divorce, it had its little rom-com moment with the slow but sweet burn between these two.

5. Eun Kyung and Yu Ri have become great friends

Eun Kyung and Yu Ri pretty much started on opposite ends of the table when it came to handling divorce cases, but they’ve grown to learn from each other and have become great friends in the process. Besides being a total power couple in the office (before Eun Kyung left Daejeong), they also lend each other a shoulder to cry on when they’re going through tough times.

From the first episode, you never would have guessed their relationship would become like this. Even when they are fighting against each other in court, they don’t let it hurt their relationship outside work.

Through thick and thin, it looks like these two ladies are sticking together!

6. ….but what happened to Sa Ra?

You didn’t forget about Choi Sa Ra (Han Jae Yi), did you? Well, she has been gone since she left town in episode 10 and hasn’t appeared since.

With the time jump, you may have expected to see her reappear, if only for closure, as she did have quite a disheartening departure after losing her love and her child. Everyone else pretty much got their happy ending, or the start of it, but what happened to her remains a mystery.

7. And is there a romantic future for Eun Kyung and Woo Jin?

A potential romantic relationship between Eun Kyung and Woo Jin has been a big question mark ever since he was accused of being her “office husband” during Eun Kyung and her ex-husband’s divorce scandal. Though that was proven false and purely the scheme of Sa Ra, Yu Ri was able to see through Woo Jin and call out his hidden feelings for Eun Kyung. It’s pretty clear Woo Jin’s admiration for Eun Kyung during their rookie attorney days blossomed into love along the way, and his feelings haven’t changed since.

Come on, look at this adorable pair:

During one scene in the finale, there’s the perfect set up for Woo Jin to come clean about his feelings, but after a painfully long pause, he dismisses the chance. It really felt like they were teasing viewers. It’s criminal, I tell you!

In another scene, Eun Ho has dinner with Woo Jin and Eun Ho tells him he is rooting for his relationship, alluding to him and Eun Kyung. Its obvious others are able to see Woo Jin’s feelings, except maybe for Eun Kyung herself.

Despite all the teasing and hints of a relationship, they surprisingly remain friends until the very end. This is definitely a legitimate reason to demand a Season 2!
