Lee Yi Kyung Shares Why He Chose To Star In “Face Me,” Insights On His Character And Role Preparation, And More
Lee Yi Kyung has shared his thoughts on his upcoming drama “Face Me”!
“Face Me” is a mystery thriller that follows the unlikely partnership between cold plastic surgeon Cha Jeong Woo (Lee Min Ki) and passionate detective Lee Min Hyeong (Han Ji Hyun), who team up to solve crimes by utilizing reconstructive surgeries for the victims.
Lee Yi Kyung plays Han Woo Jin, a lively and cheerful plastic surgeon who also shows a thoughtful side especially toward his friend Cha Jeong Woo. Lee Yi Kyung aims to fully embrace the role of Han Woo Jin, infusing it with his unique acting style to enhance the drama’s appeal.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, Lee Yi Kyung said, “I was drawn to the genre from the start. Above all, the role of a plastic surgeon was particularly appealing to me.”
Lee Yi Kyung shared his fondness for the Han Woo Jin character, describing him as “the friendly older brother next door with a cheerful and down-to-earth personality.” He added, “He plays a supportive role, helping Jeong Woo maintain his position and being more like family than his actual family.”
Lee Yi Kyung also discussed his preparations for his role as a doctor. He shared, “I consulted with a plastic surgeon to learn the proper procedures in the operating room and how to stitch up incisions. At home, I regularly practiced cutting and stitching with thick medical tape.” He even wore glasses for the first time to change his style, generating excitement for his portrayal of Han Woo Jin.
The actor described “Face Me” as a drama packed with twists and turns. “It’s a show that gives viewers a clear reason to watch until the end. You’ll see why from the very first episode,” he said, building anticipation for the premiere.
Ahead of the drama’s premiere, the actor reached out to viewers by saying, “This is a long-awaited medical drama that blends elements of chase, thrill, and mystery. As the weather gets cooler, I hope viewers will enjoy ‘Face Me’ and the tension it will bring.”
“Face Me” will premiere on November 6 at 9:50 p.m. KST as the follow-up to “Dog Knows Everything” and will be available on Viki. Stay tuned!
