"I-LAND 2" Group izna To Change Debut Album Design Due To Controversy
izna will be changing one of the versions of their debut mini album due to controversy over its design.
On November 14, izna—the girl group formed on Mnet’s audition show “I-LAND 2” earlier this year—unveiled the design of the “izna version” of their upcoming first mini album “N/a.” Shortly afterwards, the design came under fire for its alleged resemblance to NewJeans’ 2023 single album “OMG.”
Later that evening, izna’s agency WAKEONE announced that they were aware of the issue and had decided to “replace the design entirely.”
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is WAKEONE.
We are making an announcement regarding the izna version of izna’s album, which was revealed earlier today.
We are aware of the issue that has been raised related to the design, and we have decided to replace the design entirely.
We will be more careful in the future so that this kind of incident does not reoccur.
izna’s debut mini album “N/a” is scheduled to be released on November 25 at 6 p.m. KST.
