BLACKPINK's Rosé Becomes 1st Female K-Pop Artist To Enter Top 5 Of Billboard Hot 100

BLACKPINK’s Rosé has made history on Billboard’s Hot 100!

On January 6 local time, Billboard announced that Rosé and Bruno Mars’ smash hit “APT.” had shot to a new peak of No. 5 on its Hot 100 chart, which ranks the most popular songs in the United States.

In its 11th week on the chart, “APT.” jumped an impressive 29 ranks from last week—making Rosé the first female K-pop artist in history (including groups) to enter the top 10 of the Hot 100.

“APT.” also returned to No. 1 on both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl U.S. chart this week, making it the first K-pop song to spend 10 weeks at No. 1 on either chart.

Other songs by Rosé to make this week’s global charts were “toxic till the end” (which rose to No. 14 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 23 on the Global 200) and “number one girl” (which climbed to No. 76 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 105 on the Global 200).

Meanwhile, Rosé’s solo album “rosie” climbed back up to No. 12 in its fourth week on the Billboard 200, in addition to rising to No. 6 on both the Top Album Sales chart and Top Current Album Sales chart—meaning it was the sixth best-selling album of the week in the United States.

Additionally, “APT.” rose to No. 3 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart and No. 4 on the Streaming Songs chart this week. The song also continued to perform well on U.S. radio, holding steady at No. 7 on the Pop Airplay chart (which measures plays on mainstream Top 40 radio stations across the United States) and staying strong at No. 14 on the Radio Songs chart (which measures U.S. radio plays across all musical genres).

Finally, Rosé climbed to No. 22 on Billboard’s Artist 100, marking her 12th overall week on the chart.

Congratulations to Rosé!
