Jinyoung Defies All Odds For The Sake Of Love In "The Witch"
Channel A’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama “The Witch” has unveiled a new teaser!
Based on “Moving” author Kang Full’s webtoon, “The Witch” is a mystery romance that follows the story of a woman known as the “witch,” who was chased away from a village after all the men who fell in love with her died, and a man who tries to rescue her from the mysterious pattern of death.
Jinyoung will be playing data miner Dong Jin, who is greatly renowned in the industry. In order to prove that Mi Jeong (Roh Jeong Eui), the woman he loves, is not a witch, he transfers to the department of statistics. After graduating, he coincidentally runs into Mi Jeong after 10 years, and in his hopes of bringing her out into the world, he tries to find a pattern for the misfortune surrounding her.
The newly released stills capture Jinyoung’s transformation into the intelligent Dong Jin. He only looks at the truth of the data without any emotions, and he is a completely logic-oriented character. However, in order to reassure the woman he loves that she is not a witch, he dedicates himself to statistics, tirelessly searching for the truth behind the laws of misfortune.
Director Kim Tae Kyun remarked, “[Jinyoung’s] stable voice and gaze resemble Dong Jin a lot. The actor also posseses the innocence and sincerity of the character.” The production team further remarked, “‘The Witch’ is a project that integrates the acting skills built by Jinyoung who showcased his talent in various projects,” asking viewers to anticipate how Dong Jin will save Mi Jeong through love within the backdrop of Kang Full’s chilling mystery story.
“The Witch” will premiere on February 15 at 9:10 p.m. KST following the conclusion of “Check in Hanyang.” Stay tuned!
