GOT7's Jinyoung And Roh Jeong Eui Talk About What Upcoming Drama "The Witch" Means To Them
GOT7’s Jinyoung and Roh Jeong Eui have shared their thoughts on their upcoming drama “The Witch”!
Based on “Moving” author Kang Full’s webtoon of the same name, “The Witch” is a mystery romance about a woman who distances herself from the world due to tragedy and a man who refuses to give up on her. Roh Jeong Eui stars as Mi Jeong, a woman who was called a “witch” and chased away from her village after all the men who fell in love with her died. Jinyoung will play Dong Jin, a man who grew up with Mi Jeong and tries to save her from the mysterious pattern of death that follows her.
“The Witch” marks Jinyoung’s first acting project since his military discharge, which made the drama all the more meaningful for him. Looking back on his experience during filming, Jinyoung nostalgically emphasized that everyone on set was “united in spirit.”
“Each and every person on set worked hard to make this a great drama,” said Jinyoung. “What I remember most about the set was that there was a lot of discussion and conversation.”
Roh Jeong Eui similarly expressed deep affection for “The Witch,” calling it “the most precious project of my life.” The actress explained that “The Witch” was the drama through which she learned and felt the most since her debut.
“Above all else, the people [I met] remained with me,” shared Roh Jeong Eui. “In particular, I received a lot of comfort from the more experienced actors on set. I also learned a lot of things that enabled me to grow as an actor.”
When asked what he thought “the witch” signified for his character Dong Jin, Jinyoung replied, “His last promise.” He elaborated that “the promise he made to solve [this mystery] was the last promise” he made to himself, to his mother, and even to his feelings of love.
“Dong Jin’s mom becomes the deciding factor in his decision to figure out the law of the witch,” teased Jinyoung. “Please tune in to see it for yourself.”
As for what Roh Jeong Eui thought “the witch” meant to her character Mi Jeong, she remarked, “I think it’s a source of deep pain for her.”
“Although she doesn’t want to believe it, as she personally experiences the strange things that happen around her, she herself starts to get lost in those kinds of thoughts,” continued the actress. “Because she loses everything after being called a ‘witch,’ I think she must have gone through enormous pain.”
“The Witch” will premiere on February 15 at 9:10 p.m. KST. Check out the latest teaser for the drama here!
