
SM Entertainment Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Posts On aespa
SM Entertainment has taken legal action against netizens who defamed their group aespa.
On February 11, SM Entertainment released the following statement:
Hello, this is SM Entertainment.
We would like to provide an update regarding the legal actions being taken against malicious posts and comments including defamation, insults, and sexual harassment, related to our artist aespa.
Through reports from fans and our own monitoring efforts, we have been collecting evidence of malicious posts and comments targeting aespa. Based on this evidence, we filed complaints for charges such as insults, defamation, and the editing and distribution of false video materials, and we are currently proceeding with legal action.
We would like to inform you that investigations are underway as multiple individuals have been identified among the accused and that some cases have been forwarded to the prosecution and received final rulings from the court as detailed below:
