Kim Min Ha Undergoes A Dramatic Emotional Shift After Gong Myung Leaves Her In New Drama "Way Back Love"
TVING’s upcoming original series “Way Back Love” has unveiled its first stills of Kim Min Ha’s character!
Based on a novel, “Way Back Love” is a fantasy romance drama starring Kim Min Ha as Hee Wan, a 24-year-old woman who has isolated herself from society after losing the will to live. A week before her death, her childhood friend and first love Ram Woo (Gong Myung) appears before her as a grim reaper.
During her school days, Hee Wan is full of energy—always running, eating well, and playing without a care. She’s a mischievous troublemaker, the complete opposite of model student Ram Woo. Always finding creative ways to stir up trouble, she unexpectedly grows closer to Ram Woo after an April Fools’ prank.
However, after Ram Woo leaves, Hee Wan loses her spark and changes completely. With such a striking contrast between her past and present, the photos build anticipation for the new side of Hee Wan that Kim Min Ha will bring to life.
The newly released stills show Kim Min Ha fully immersed in the role of Hee Wan. Looking innocent in her school uniform, she brightens the classroom with a cheerful smile. In another image, she is seen writing a letter at her desk late at night.
But as time passes, Hee Wan’s aura shifts dramatically. Her face becomes shadowed, and her once-lively eyes turn empty and still, hinting at the hardships she has endured.
Kim Min Ha shared, “I remember laughing and crying a lot when I read the script for the first time. Set against a spring backdrop, the story is full of youthful moments that felt nostalgic, pretty, and beautiful. I hope viewers also feel its warmth and are reminded of their own spring.”
She also spoke about her co-star Gong Myung, saying, “He’s an actor with a transparent and comforting charm. He always makes everyone around him feel at ease, and he has the playful innocence of a high school student. You can really see that in his eyes.” She added, “He truly embodied Ram Woo, which made it easy for me to immerse myself in the role. Even now, I’m so grateful to him.”
Episodes 1 and 2 of “Way Back Love” will be released on April 3.
