3 Reasons To Anticipate The Upcoming Thriller Film 'Streaming'

The upcoming film “Streaming” has shared three reasons why viewers should be excited for its release!

“Streaming” is a new thriller starring Kang Ha Neul as Woo Sang, the most popular streamer on a competitive platform where only the top streamer gets to take home all the sponsorship earnings. When Woo Sang discovers a clue to an unsolved serial murder case, he begins tracking down the killer while streaming his investigation in real time.

Ahead of its release, here are three reasons to look forward to the film:

The compelling character of Woo Sang

Woo Sang, the most popular crime channel streamer in South Korea, is a compelling character who will command viewers’ attention from start to finish. With sharp profiling skills, irresistible charisma, and a natural ability to keep his subscribers hooked, he reigns supreme in the streaming world. His perfectly styled hair, sharp suit, and bold tattoos radiate confidence and arrogance.

However, despite his seemingly flawless persona, Woo Sang is forced to make extreme choices when his live broadcast takes an unexpected turn while tracking the culprit behind a serial murder case. Viewers can’t wait to find out how Woo Sang’s live-streamed investigation will unfold.

Woo Sang’s thrilling chase of the serial killer

The tension escalates as Woo Sang dives deeper into his investigation. While investigating the serial murder case, Woo Sang collaborates with an unknown streamer, Matilda (Ha Seo Yoon), who gradually reveals her desire for fame and begins eyeing his top position.

Just as Matilda finally gains the popularity she craves, she is suddenly kidnapped by a mysterious figure. This enigmatic character not only abducts Matilda but also taunts Woo Sang, leaving cryptic clues and challenging him to find them within a set time limit. To raise the stakes even further, the kidnapper places an enormous reward on the line, pushing Woo Sang to his limits. As Woo Sang’s live-streamed investigation takes an unpredictable turn, the tension escalates, leaving viewers eager to uncover the identities of the serial killer and the person taunting Woo Sang.

Director Jo Jang Ho’s bold filming technique

Director Jo Jang Ho took an ambitious approach, opting for a one-take filming style to mirror the raw intensity of a real-time live stream. By eliminating traditional editing, the film amplifies the suspense, making every second of Woo Sang’s pursuit feel grippingly real.

To pull off this ambitious feat, lead actor Kang Ha Neul had to shoot multiple long-take scenes. Reflecting on the filming process, Kang Ha Neul shared, “We constantly explored ways to make the film feel as real and immersive as possible. Every member of the team poured their heart into creating an authentic streaming experience.”

Director Jo Jang Ho added, “Most of the film unfolds like an actual live broadcast, with meticulous attention to detail. We specifically crafted it to be best experienced on a big screen.”

“Streaming” is set to hit theaters on March 21.
