tvN’s “The Potato Lab” is a new romantic comedy that centers on a rural potato research institute. Lee Sun Bin stars as Kim Mi Kyung, a researcher whose life revolves entirely around potatoes, while Kang Tae Oh plays So Baek Ho, a cold pragmatist who joins the institute as its new director.
Spoilers
On the previous episode of “The Potato Lab,” So Baek Ho realized that he was experiencing new and unfamiliar emotions because of Kim Mi Kyung. Meanwhile, Mi Kyung was left reeling after Baek Ho began pursuing her, only to suddenly fire her out of the blue.
In the upcoming episode of the drama, the confusing love-hate relationship between Baek Ho and Mi Kyung will continue. After unexpectedly receiving an apple as a gift from Mi Kyung, Baek Ho returns the favor by carving the apple into the shape of a cute bunny and leaving the slices at Mi Kyung’s door. When she sees what Baek Ho left for her, Mi Kyung can’t help breaking into a smile—hinting at a change in Mi Kyung’s feelings towards Baek Ho.
However, in other stills from the episode, sparks fly between Baek Ho and Mi Kyung as they wash one another’s cars. Although they’re supposed to be helping each other, both of them get a little too competitive, almost as if they were facing off in a competition.
The drama’s production team teased, “In Episode 5, which airs tomorrow, Kim Mi Kyung and So Baek Ho’s bickering romance will gain momentum. It’s unclear whether they’re helping or tormenting one another, but their fun and crazy battle will make viewers’ hearts flutter.”
They added, “Please look forward to the change in their dynamic as they reach a new stage in their relationship.”
