3 Things We Loved & 2 We Didn't In Episodes 5-6 Of "Heesu In Class 2"
Hee Su (Ahn Ji Ho) is just your average guy with one of the most relatable situations out there: a secret, unrequited crush. The icing on the cake is that his crush also happens to be his best friend, Chan Young (Cho Jun Young), which makes things just a sprinkle more complicated.
We’re right about at the halfway point of the series, and things are happening. Here are three lovable things that happened in episodes 5 and 6 and two not-so-lovable.
Warning: Spoilers up to episode 6 ahead!
1. Loved: Ji Yu rooting for Hee Su and Seung Won
If you’re caught up with the episodes so far, you know Hee Su is under the wrong impression that Seung Won (Lee Sang Jun) likes Ji Yu (Kim Do Yeon) when they are actually already secret besties (their past and how they met are also revealed this week, and, spoiler, their backstory is so heartwarming!).
This time around, Ji Yu takes the role of matchmaker too, ironically helping Seung Won pursue his real crush, Hee Su. She even willingly plays the third wheel and invites the two to a movie date. She’s a real one.
Female leads or female side characters in BLs sometimes get a bad rep for getting in the way of the main couple or causing other mischief in a BL. But in this case, Ji Yu is an avid supporter of Hee Su and Seung Won. She looks out for her friends before herself and gives some pretty good advice too.
And if you’re wondering why Chan Young is missing during this group outing, you’ll have to watch to see why.
2. Loved: Seung Won staying over at Hee Su’s
Seung Won’s house flooding technically isn’t a good thing, but it leads to growth between Seung Won and Hee Su, which is a major win for this slow-burn (potential) couple.
Hee Su catches Seung Won outside at night and learns that his house has flooded. Of course, the next thing that happens is a sleepover.
Seung Won has always listened to the sounds coming from Hee Su’s house, from Hee Su playfully fighting with his three older sisters to him rushing out the door because he’s late for school. But Seung Won doesn’t have the same family experience at his own home and is usually left alone in the quiet while his mother works.
Finally, due to the flooding in his house, Seung Won gets a chance to be a part of the warmth and laughter that fills Hee Su’s house. For Seung Won, it must have felt like something he’s only dreamed of or imagined becoming a reality.
3. Loved: the gang going on a trip
Long story short, Hee Su’s sister books a cabin but has a change of plans, so all four pals pack their bags and go on an overnight trip. From the start, the trip has a few hiccups, but that’s what makes it fun.
Hee Su forgets his telescope at the grocery story, he also forgets the groceries in the taxi, and not to mention the nice cabin Hee Su’s sister booked turns out to be everything but nice. It’s pure silliness and loads of fun to see the four outside of school.
Throughout the trip, Seung Won encourages Hee Su and even takes the blame for the forgotten groceries. Despite all the unexpected mishaps, the gang is able to find the bright side.
4. Disliked: Ji Yu and Chan Young keeping their relationship a secret
Ji Yu and Chan Young finally become a couple, but Ji Yu requests to not tell anyone for a while, even though Chan Young opposes. He asks to at least tell Hee Su, but Ji Yu wants it kept a secret, especially from Hee Su.
This request is because Seung Won asks her to keep her relationship under wraps because he doesn’t want Hee Su to find out. Ji Yu points out that this can’t end well, but Seung Won insists he needs more time to figure it out. Though the intentions are good, this lie will likely hurt Hee Su. This is why Ji Yu encourages Seung Won to come clean ASAP.
5. Disliked: Seung Won missing his confession
Thankfully, Ji Yu snaps some sense into Seung Won to just be honest, leading him to plan his confession during their cabin trip. The four friends decide to go to a viewing spot in the forest to see shooting stars at Hee Su’s request. When they go out at night, Seung Won steps away to rehearse his confession (yes, it is extremely adorable).
But don’t get your hopes up just yet.
When he returns to the group, ready to tell the truth, he catches Hee Su storming off, away from Ji Yu and Chan Young. Seung Won seems to know the situation is not good, so he follows Hee Su.
The two share a moment alone, watching the stars, but no confession is made. At least, not yet. We’ll just have to wait next week to see!
