Kim Ji Yeon Faces Off Against A Bloodied And Possessed Shin Seul Ki In Upcoming Drama “The Haunted Palace”

SBS’s “The Haunted Palace” has unveiled new stills featuring WJSN’s Kim Ji Yeon and Shin Seul Ki!

“The Haunted Palace” is a fantasy historical rom-com that delves into the tale of the Eight Feet Tall spirit that bears a grudge against the king, a female shaman who opposes it, and an Imugi (imaginary creature that is able to transform into a dragon upon acquiring a magical jewel).

Kim Ji Yeon stars as Yeo Ri, the granddaughter of a powerful shaman. Despite her strong spiritual abilities, Yeo Ri rejects her destined path and instead chooses to live as an artisan who crafts eyeglasses. Shin Seul Ki plays Choi In Sun, the only daughter of an influential family, known for her innocence and honest personality.

In the newly released stills, Yeo Ri stands defenseless in broad daylight on a street corner when In Sun suddenly charges toward her from behind.

What’s most striking is In Sun’s haunting appearance. Clad in a plain white hanbok—traditionally worn for mourning, not something a noble young woman would wear in public—she cuts a ghostly figure. Blood streaks her face, her glare toward Yeo Ri is equally chilling, with eyes wild and seemingly inhuman.

Tension escalates as Yeo Ri is shown fighting off In Sun, who appears to be possessed. The suspense reaches a new peak when an unknown force suddenly grabs Yeo Ri by the throat. She collapses to the ground, visibly gasping for air and writhing in pain. The harrowing moment raises questions about the identity of the mysterious entity—and whether Yeo Ri can survive the attack.

“The Haunted Palace” premieres on April 18 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available to watch on Viki.
