Yook Sungjae And Kim Ji Yeon Unexpectedly Face A Life-Or-Death Ordeal In “The Haunted Palace”

SBS’s “The Haunted Palace” has unveiled gripping new stills ahead of its highly anticipated premiere tonight!

“The Haunted Palace” is a fantasy historical rom-com that delves into the tale of the Eight Feet Tall spirit that bears a grudge against the king, a female shaman who opposes it, and an Imugi (imaginary creature that is able to transform into a dragon upon acquiring a magical jewel).

BTOB’s Yook Sungjae stars as Yoon Gap, a loyal royal archivist and Yeo Ri’s first love who becomes possessed by Gang Cheol, an evil spirit known as an Imugi. WJSN’s Kim Ji Yeon stars as Yeo Ri, the granddaughter of a powerful shaman. Though gifted with extraordinary spiritual powers, Yeo Ri rejects her destined path and instead chooses to live as an artisan who crafts eyeglasses. Kim Ji Hun plays King Yi Jeong, a fictional ruler who must confront the Eight Feet Tall Spirit, a vengeful entity determined to settle a score with the royal family.

The newly released stills hint at a dire crisis for Yoon Gap and Yeo Ri. In one scene, the pair is seen aimlessly wandering through a dense forest, their faces etched with anxiety. Tension escalates when Yoon Gap appears drenched in blood, his expression filled with fury as he confronts a sword pointed at him—raising the question of what harrowing events have led to this moment.

Another set of stills captures a dramatic tone shift. The once-gentle Yoon Gap now radiates an eerie chill, glaring coldly at someone. In a high-stakes moment, he grabs Yeo Ri by the shoulders, his eyes sharp with intensity, while she stares back in shock and confusion. In the final image, Yeo Ri is seen on the edge of a cliff, further heightening suspense about the dangerous twists that await.
