A spin-off of the hit series “Hospital Playlist,” tvN’s “Resident Playbook” is a new drama depicting the realistic and relatable hospital lives, growth, and heartwarming friendships of residents at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center.
Spoilers
Previously on “Resident Playbook,” Oh Yi Young (Go Youn Jung) became a first-year resident at Yulje Medical Center for the sole purpose of paying off her debt. Although she repeatedly found herself wanting to quit, every time she felt the urge to escape, it was the patients who stopped Oh Yi Young from leaving. Even when she was about to pack her things and go, the sound of an emergency alert made her rush to the patient’s side, desperately praying that they would be okay—proving that no matter how badly she wanted to quit, she had real passion for the job.
In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming third episode, Oh Yi Young is visibly nervous as she struggles during an interaction with the guardian of a patient. Unlike Oh Yi Young, who is inexpert at comforting others, the experienced fourth-year resident Gu Do Won (Jung Joon Won) clearly knows his way around these kinds of difficult situations. While Oh Yi Young watches awkwardly from the sidelines, Gu Do Won warmly takes the patient’s guardian’s hand and offers words of comfort.
Afterwards, Oh Yi Young asks the skilled Gu Do Won for help in learning how to comfort patients and their guardians—and he teaches her a special method that can ease their worries during stressful moments.
To find out what Oh Yi Young learns from Gu Do Won, catch the next episode of “Resident Playbook” on April 19 at 9:20 p.m. KST!
