Yook Sungjae Risks It All To Save Cha Chung Hwa In “The Haunted Palace”
Yook Sungjae is heading straight into danger to save Cha Chung Hwa in tonight’s episode of “The Haunted Palace”!
“The Haunted Palace” is a fantasy historical rom-com that delves into the tale of the Eight Feet Tall spirit that bears a grudge against the king, a female shaman who opposes it, and an evil spirit known as Imugi. BTOB’s Yook Sungjae stars as Yoon Gap, a royal archivist and Yeo Ri’s first love who becomes possessed by an Imugi named Gangcheori. WJSN’s Kim Ji Yeon stars as Yeo Ri, the granddaughter of a powerful shaman who rejects her spiritual powers and destined path.
In newly released stills, Yeong Geum (Cha Chung Hwa) is seen tied up and imprisoned inside a run-down warehouse, while Gangcheori charges in alone to save her. As blade-wielding assailants emerge, Gangcheori’s steely gaze foreshadows the chaos to come.
What’s especially surprising is that Gangcheori, who has always treated Yoon Gap’s mother Yeong Geum as a stranger—coldly referring to her as “that woman”—now puts his life on the line for her.
The confrontation escalates as Gangcheori faces off alone against the attackers, armed with only a single sword. The situation is dire, and the odds are stacked against him.
To make matters worse, as more time passes with Gangcheori trapped in a human body, the spiritual powers of the Imugi within him continue to fade—raising the stakes even higher. Still, his eyes blaze with fury and unshakable resolve, leaving viewers on edge. Can Gangcheori save Yeong Geum? And who are the mysterious figures behind this deadly ambush?
The next episode of “The Haunted Palace” airs on May 16 at 9:55 p.m. KST.
