Sooyoung Continues Her Tumultuous Journey To Quit Alcohol With Gong Myoung's Help In "Second Shot At Love"

tvN’s “Second Shot at Love” has depicted the characters’ fierce battle to quit alcohol!

“Second Shot at Love” is a rom-com that follows Han Geum Ju (Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung), a self-proclaimed “reasonable drinker” who unexpectedly reunites with her first love Seo Ui Jun (Gong Myoung)—a man who despises alcohol—and decides to take on the challenge of quitting drinking.

Previously in “Second Shot at Love,” Han Geum Ju called off her engagement, saying she preferred alcohol over her ex-fiancé. Moving back to her hometown of Bocheon, she was welcomed back by her father Han Jung Soo (Kim Sang Ho) and older sister Han Hyun Joo (Jo Yoon Hee) with drinks, resulting in her mother Kim Gwang Ok (Kim Sung Ryung) to ban alcohol in the household.

Although her mother tried to keep the reason why the engagement was broken off a secret from the townsfolk, Han Geum Ju shared that she preferred alcohol over her ex-fiancé, wasting her efforts. However, the real reason Han Geum Ju broke off the engagement is that her ex-boyfriend had cheated.

Back at Bocheon, Han Geum Ju also reunited with her first love Seo Ui Jun, who she thought was working at a big hospital in Seoul. Having returned to Bocheon for different reasons, their awkward reunion sparked curiosity for their future relationship.

Han Geum Ju and Seo Ui Jun’s relationship gradually began to change after Han Geum Ju accidentally injured Seo Ui Jun’s leg. Han Geum Ju took responsibility, following him along to his house calls, and although they grew closer, they became distant again due to unexpected incidents and misunderstanding. Seo Ui Jun also couldn’t hide his disappointment as Han Geum Ju drank again.

However, alcohol was also discovered in Seo Ui Jun’s refrigerator and a mysterious online comment surfaced, alleging that Seo Ui Jun killed someone and raising questions about his past.

In the upcoming broadcast, Seo Ui Jun’s hidden past as well as his previous relationship with Han Geum Ju will be revealed, creating tension.

Han Geum Ju will also make great efforts to quit alcohol. With Han Geum Ju, Han Jung Soo, and Han Hyun Joo forced to quit alcohol, they will each go on their own journey to quit alcohol.

“Second Shot at Love” airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. KST.
