Kim Da Mi And Son Suk Ku Reunite Over New Serial Murder Case Tied To The Past In “Nine Puzzles”

Disney+ original series “Nine Puzzles” has released new preview stills!

“Nine Puzzles” is a mystery thriller that follows the story of profiler Yoon Yi Na (Kim Da Mi), who was the only witness in an unsolved case from 10 years ago, and detective Kim Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who still believes her to be a suspect, as they unearth the secrets of a new serial murder case that begins with a mysterious puzzle piece.

The newly released stills capture the intense developments surrounding a series of murders that begin again after a decade. 10 years ago, high schooler Yi Na was the first to discover the scene of her uncle Yoon Dong Hoon’s (Ji Jin Hee) murder. The shock caused her to lose all memory of the event, while Han Saem, the lead detective at the time, suspected her as the prime suspect.

The image of Yi Na lying on the crime scene sets a tense tone, and Han Saem’s piercing gaze as he watches her head to the station for questioning offers a glimpse into their fraught first encounter and the complicated relationship that continues to unfold a decade later.

Now a profiler, Yi Na is seen deeply immersed in thought, seemingly reconstructing the case in her mind, hinting at her unique approach to profiling.

The story takes a chilling turn when Yi Na receives a puzzle piece illustrated in the same style as one found at her uncle’s murder scene. Soon after, she becomes the first to discover what appears to be a new crime scene connected to the decade-old case.

Han Saem, still filled with doubt, questions, “You were there 10 years ago, and you are here again today—I wonder why?” expressing his lingering suspicion.

Adding another twist, Yi Na ends up joining the Violent Crimes Unit 2, where Han Saem works. Once a suspect and detective, the two now work together as profiler and detective—their uneasy alliance sets the stage for a gripping push-and-pull between trust and doubt.

The cast also features Kim Sung Kyun as Yang Jeong Ho, the devoted and principled team leader, and Hyun Bong Sik as Choi San, the team’s energetic MZ-generation rookie—both of whom bring distinctive flair to the ensemble.

The first six episodes of “Nine Puzzles” will be released on May 21, followed by three more on May 28. The final two episodes will be released on June 4, for a total of 11 episodes.
