Lee Jung Ha And Kim Do Wan Become Masked Fighters To Overthrow School Violence In “ONE : High School Heroes”
Wavve’s upcoming drama “ONE : High School Heroes” has unveiled new stills ahead of its premiere!
Based on a popular webtoon, “ONE : High School Heroes” is a high school action drama that follows Kim Ui Gyeom (Lee Jung Ha), a top student who has long suffered under the oppression of his father, and Kang Yoon Gi (Kim Do Wan), who seeks to use Ui Gyeom’s fighting prowess for his own purposes. Together, they form the masked vigilante group “High School Heroes” and unleash their suppressed rage to overturn the school’s violent social order.
The first still depicts Ui Gyeom’s arrival at Yeonseong High School. Raised under the strict rule of a father who demands he enter medical school, Ui Gyeom finds a turning point when he receives a Walkman from his older brother—an object that stirs something deep inside and sets him on the path toward inevitable fights. Yoon Gi, who sees right through Ui Gyeom and recognizes his potential, draws him into the world of underground battles. Their shared, enigmatic expression in the stills hints at a brewing alliance against the school’s entrenched violence.
Their transformation into the masked vigilantes known as “High School Heroes” also raises questions about what drives them to embark on a mission of “real education,” suggesting that the story’s violent power dynamics may soon expand beyond the school walls.
Adding emotional weight to the drama is the family narrative involving Ui Gyeom’s father Seok Tae (Kim Sang Ho), who seems like a devoted family man but actually enforces strict discipline in hopes of turning his son into a doctor, and Da Bin (Kim Joo Ryung), Ui Gyeom’s mother who begins to change in order to protect her son from her husband’s harsh methods.
The supporting cast of rising talents also adds to the intrigue. Yoo Hee Jae plays Ki Soo, the school’s top fighter. Yuk Jun Seo plays Geol Jae, a mysterious transfer student hiding his combat skills. Meanwhile, Im Sung Kyun takes on the role of Seung Joon, a dominant figure inside and outside the classroom.
“ONE : High School Heroes” will premiere on May 30.
