Yum Jung Ah, Park Hae Joon, Choi Yoon Ji, Kim Min Kyu, And More Impress At Script Reading For New Drama “Love, Take Two”
tvN’s upcoming drama “Love, Take Two” has shared a sneak peek of its first script reading!
“Love, Take Two” is a heartwarming comedy drama about a mismatched duo: a 43-year-old single mother and her 23-year-old medical student daughter. The pair move to the countryside to start a new chapter in their lives, where they encounter various people and chaotic situations that teach them profound lessons about life.
The drama is helmed by “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” “Crash Course in Romance,” and “Love Next Door” director Yoo Je Won and penned by rising writer Sung Woo Jin.
The script reading was attended by cast members Yum Jung Ah, Park Hae Joon, Choi Yoon Ji, Kim Min Kyu, Kim Sun Young, Yang Kyung Won, Kim Mi Kyung, Kang Ae Shim, Jung Young Joo, and Park Soo Young.
Yum Jung Ah stars as Lee Ji An, a bold, resilient single mother who works as a charismatic construction site manager yet melts in front of her daughter, Lee Hyo Ri (Choi Yoon Ji). Faced with her daughter’s belated rebellion and the reappearance of her first love, Ji An embarks on a new chapter in life.
Park Hae Joon plays Ryu Jeong Suk, a prickly architect and Ji An’s first love. A single dad to Ryu Bo Hyun (Kim Min Kyu), Jeong Suk’s peaceful life is disrupted when Ji An and her daughter suddenly enter his life. Though cool and composed, he’s defenseless around Ji An, revealing his long-buried youthful innocence.
Rising stars Choi Yoon Ji and Kim Min Kyu also shined during the script reading. Choi Yoon Ji plays Lee Hyo Ri, a once-model med student turned wandering soul. Her portrayal of Hyo Ri’s emotional complexity—living life by the book until one day she rebels—and her heartfelt dynamic with Yum Jung Ah as a mother-daughter duo promise to add emotional depth to the drama.
Kim Min Kyu stars as Ryu Bo Hyun, a bright young farmer and Jeong Suk’s son. When Hyo Ri unexpectedly parks her camper in front of his house, his world begins to shift. His romance with Choi Yoon Ji and father-son bond with Park Hae Joon will breathe life into the narrative.
The ensemble cast of seasoned character actors will also add to the charm: Kim Sun Young plays Sun Young, Ji An’s loyal best friend and a construction site kitchen owner, Yang Kyung Won stars as Tae Oh, a laid-back surfer and “village fool with swag.” Kim Mi Kyung will raise intrigue as Moon Hee, a mysterious neighbor of Ji An and Hyo Ri with a hidden past. Kang Ae Shim plays Grandma Mimi, the lovable village chatterbox. Jung Young Joo will star as Chief Go, the long-serving, no-nonsense village chief. Finally, Park Soo Young rounds out the cast as her romantic, warm-hearted husband who dedicates his life to her despite her constant nagging.
“Love, Take Two” will air in August on tvN. Stay tuned!
