Choi Min Sik, Choi Hyun Wook, And More Confirmed To Star In New Drama 'Notes From The Last Row'

Choi Min Sik, Choi Hyun Wook, Heo Joon Ho, and more have been confirmed for a new drama!

On May 29, Netflix confirmed the production of its new series “Notes from the Last Row” along with the cast lineup.

Based on a popular Spanish play by Juan Mayorga, “Notes From The Last Row” will tell the story of Heo Mun Oh, a literature professor who once dreamed of becoming a writer but is now living a dull, uneventful life while feeling defeated and helpless. One day, he finds himself fascinated by the writing of Lee Kang, a student who always sits in the last row of his classroom, and his once forgotten ambitions and yearnings are reawakened.

Choi Min Sik, who achieved box office success last year with the film “Exhuma,” which surpassed 11 million moviegoers, will take on the role of literature professor and failed novelist Mun Oh, who published a single novel in his youth but never got over the cold reviews he received from his peers—and as a result, was never able to write again.

Choi Hyun Wook, who left a strong impression with his solid acting skills and fresh charm in dramas such as “Weak Hero Class 1,” “Twinkling Watermelon,” and “My Dearest Nemesis” will play the role of Lee Kang. Sitting in the very last row of Heo Mun Oh’s classroom, Lee Kang exudes a mysterious presence and stands out among the literature students for his exceptional writing skills, despite being an undergraduate in engineering.

Lee Kang, whose talent is recognized by Heo Mun Oh, is invited to attend a secret literature class. However, Heo Mun Oh’s obsessive immersion in Lee Kang’s writing soon leads him down an unexpected path. With veteran actor Choi Min Sik and rising star Choi Hyun Wook coming together to deliver intense performances, anticipation for the project is higher than ever.

Heo Joon Ho, who showcased his unique presence in every project he appears in—including the dramas “Buried Hearts” and “Why Her?” as well as the films “Noryang: Deadly Sea” and “Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman“—will portray Kim Su Hun, a successful writer and Heo Mun Oh’s college classmate. Exuding the composure and confidence befitting a famous author, Kim Su Hun is both the one-sided rival whom Heo Mun Oh secretly admired and envied and the person who left him with a lifelong sense of inferiority.

Kim Yun Jin, who has built a global career from the American drama “Lost” to the Netflix series “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area,” will take on the role of Kim Su Hun’s wife Ahn Eun Joo whose beauty and elegance captivate at first sight, promising to show a new side of herself.

Jin Kyung, who won the public’s heart with her solid acting skills in numerous projects including the dramas “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract,” “Love in Contract,” and the “Dr. Romantic” series, adds credibility to the cast by playing Heo Mun Oh’s wife and psychologist Jo Hyeon Suk.
