Namkoong Min Reignites His Career Through His Father’s Film In New Drama “Our Movie”
SBS’s upcoming drama “Our Movie” has offered a glimpse into Namkoong Min’s character!
“Our Movie” tells the poignant love story of Lee Je Ha (Namkoong Min), a film director struggling with an uncertain future, and Lee Da Eum (Jeon Yeo Been), an aspiring actress who is suffering from a terminal illness.
Lee Je Ha gained major attention with his debut film but has not released another in the five years since. Because his father was widely regarded as a master in the film industry, public attention has closely followed Lee Je Ha’s every move. The label “son of a film master” continues to shadow him. His debut work showcased artistic sensibility on par with his father’s, and his decision to follow in those footsteps has only fueled anticipation for his next project.
The world quickly forgot Lee Je Ha after he disappeared, but that changed when news broke that he will direct a remake of his father’s film, “White Love.” Viewers are curious why Lee Je Ha chose to come back through his father’s work after being away for five years. At the same time, hidden wounds in his heart come to light, adding a deeper, more complex layer to the story—exploring both film and family relationships.
Newly released stills show director Lee Je Ha’s daily life, capturing attention. His professionalism shines through his serious approach to work, and even in his downcast gaze, his curious attitude toward filmmaking is clear.
The drama offers a fresh take by showing the making of another film within the story. Namkoong Min, who plays Lee Je Ha, said, “What interested me most when I first read the script was exactly that—the idea of making a film within the story. The film isn’t just a prop, it’s a tool that reflects the emotions and life of the character Lee Je Ha. That was very appealing.”
“Our Movie” will premiere on June 13 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
