“Squid Game 3” Shares Behind-The-Scenes Photos Of The Filming Set

Netflix’s hit series “Squid Game” has released new behind-the-scenes photos offering a preview of the filming set!

“Squid Game 3” will continue the intense saga of Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who re-entered the deadly competition with a personal mission; Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), who concealed his identity to infiltrate the game; and the other surviving contestants who are facing the final chapter of the brutal game.

The new stills hint at a broader, expanded universe for the season. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk said, “Season 3 will be darker and more brutal than Season 2, but at the same time, quite clever and humorous.”

Speaking about the show’s iconic game sets, he added, “I wanted to show a sense of childhood mixed with the bleak situations the characters face, their moral dilemmas, and the cruel fates that await them.”

The series also delivers a clear message. He said, “I wanted to ask the fundamental question of whether we have humanity and whether that humanity has the ability and power to make the world a better place.”

Behind-the-scenes photos reveal the VIP room, which is larger and more elaborate than before. This season’s VIP room features white marble, giving it a brighter look compared to past seasons.

Art director Chae Kyoung Sun explained, “Unlike the fiery Gi Hun, the cold and calm Front Man is shown using white marble. It creates a strong contrast.”

The VIP dining area is new as well. Art director Chae Kyoung Sun said, “The table is shaped like a hexagon. It’s a solid shape and feels like an oracle, which I wanted to show in the design.”

She added, “I saw evil—like cruelty and violence—as poison. So I used different colors to represent poisonous plants when designing the VIP room.”

The art director also noted, “If Season 1 showed the law of the jungle with a grassland theme, Season 3 boldly creates a space using bright but dangerous poisonous plants in its design.”
