Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun’s Agency Announces Legal Action Against Malicious Posts

Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun’s agency has announced strong legal measures to protect her from malicious online attacks.

On June 4, LEAD Entertainment released an official statement announcing it will pursue strong legal action in response to the spread of false information, personal attacks, and defamatory content targeting Seohyun across online communities and social media platforms.

The agency’s full statement is as follows:

Hello, this is LEAD Entertainment.

We would like to inform you that we are taking strong legal action, in cooperation with our legal partners (law firm), against malicious slander, the spreading of false information, defamatory content, personal attacks, and malicious comments concerning our artist Seohyun that are being circulated on various online communities and social media platforms.

In particular, the following actions constitute clear criminal offenses:

– Spreading false information (Criminal Act Article 307 – Defamation)
– Posting insulting remarks (Criminal Act Article 311 – Insult)
– Sexually harassing behavior and remarks (Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes Article 13 – Sexual Harassment via Communication Media)
– Repeated slander and threatening messages (Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes)

Continued defamation of our artist’s character and personal attacks online are criminal acts. We firmly state that there will be no settlements or leniency under any circumstances.

To protect our artist, we have already begun collecting evidence of malicious activity. Reports and materials submitted by fans will be a significant help in our legal preparations and responses.
