Kim Sung Ryung’s Sudden Collapse Sends Shockwaves Through Her Family In “Second Shot At Love”

Kim Sung Ryung is unexpectedly hospitalized in tonight’s episode of tvN’s “Second Shot at Love.”

“Second Shot at Love” is a rom-com that follows Han Geum Ju (Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung), a self-proclaimed “reasonable drinker” who unexpectedly reunites with her first love Seo Ui Jun (Gong Myoung)—a man who despises alcohol—and decides to take on the challenge of quitting drinking.

Kim Gwang Ok (Kim Sung Ryung) is the only one in a household full of heavy drinkers who has always stayed away from alcohol. While her husband Han Jung Soo (Kim Sang Ho) and daughters Han Hyun Joo (Jo Yoon Hee) and Han Geum Ju can’t seem to go a day without it, Gwang Ok has been steadfast in enforcing a household alcohol ban and leading their journey toward sobriety.

So when Gwang Ok suddenly collapses and is rushed to the hospital, the news comes as a shock to everyone. Ironically, despite her family members receiving alarming results during a recent health checkup, it’s Gwang Ok—who seemed perfectly healthy—who ends up in the hospital, deepening the family’s concern.

Newly released stills show Gwang Ok unconscious in a hospital bed, wearing an oxygen mask, while her family watches over her with heavy hearts. Han Geum Ju, Han Hyun Joo, Han Jung Soo, and even Geum Ju’s boyfriend Seo Ui Jun gather at the hospital, their faces clouded with worry.

Han Jung Soo appears stunned and shaken, while the two daughters struggle to contain their emotions—emphasizing the void left by their mother’s absence. Even Seo Ui Jun’s troubled expression adds to the tension, as the air around the hospital room feels like the calm before a storm.
