Watch: Seohyun Becomes Taecyeon’s Chosen Female Lead As Rivalries Explode In “The First Night With The Duke” Teaser

KBS2’s upcoming drama “The First Night With the Duke” has released a highlight teaser!

“The First Night with the Duke” is a fantasy romance drama about an ordinary college student whose soul is transported into a minor character in a romance novel, Cha Sun Chaek (Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun). After waking up in the world of the novel, she ends up spending the night with the obsessive male lead, Yi Beon (2PM’s Taecyeon).

The highlight teaser opens with Cha Sun Chaek, who has become possessed by the soul of a college student known only as “K.” Confused, she asks, “Who am I?” before soon realizing that she’s been transported into a background character from her favorite romance novel—a privileged noblewoman. Though she reminds herself to stay out of the main plot to avoid disrupting the story, she can’t help but impulsively kiss the male lead Yi Beon the moment she meets him.

Caught up in Sun Chaek’s unexpected actions, Yi Beon ends up spending the night with her after their first meeting. This incident triggers his full-blown obsessive tendencies, and he begins to pursue her. Meanwhile, Sun Chaek, aware that the real female lead is Jo Eun Ae (Kwon Han Sol), tries desperately to steer the story back on track. However, Yi Beon—claiming that seducing a member of the royal family and stealing his virtue is an act of treason—demands they get married, cornering her even further.

Their fateful encounter marks the start of a chaotic love entanglement that includes three other key characters. Jo Eun Ae, the original heroine, attempts a wall slam on Jung Soo Gyeom (Seo Bum June), while Jung Soo Gyeom surprisingly confesses his feelings for Sun Chaek. Meanwhile, villainess Do Hwa Seon (Chi Hae Won) openly shows her obsession with Yi Beon, further complicating the dynamics.

As Yi Beon confesses that he’s chosen Sun Chaek as his female lead, subtle changes begin to take place within her as well. However, trouble brews as Do Hwa Seon shifts her hostility from Jo Eun Ae to Sun Chaek, and Yi Beon begins to fall under suspicion for harboring treasonous ambitions. To make matters worse, Sun Chaek’s father opposes their marriage, suggesting a rocky road ahead.

What choices will Sun Chaek—once just a minor character—make now that she’s at the center of it all?
